Introduction to Sailing

Students spend 3 hours sailing English Bay aboard our 22 foot sailing yacht, which provides you an affordable insight to hands on experience without making the investment in time and money for a full course.

Outline
The basics on safety and sailboat terminology along with instruction in tying knots and are provided in a serious, fun atmosphere where you receive hands on experience. Courses are kept small so that there is a lot of time for interaction between student and Instructor.
Our instructors are experienced skippers who have your safety and well being in mind.

Basic Sail
 
This course certifies you to charter locally and internationally

 

This course comprises of classroom and hands-on practical sail boat handling and both meets and exceeds regulated CYA requirements. Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to operate a sailing vessel as crew or skipper during daylight hours within sight of land with winds up to 25 knots. This course is the minimum requirement to be able to charter locally, and accepted internationally by providing proof of your qualification with your QuickNAV log book.

All instructors are qualified seasoned seamen with many years of experience in all weather, providing a close student teacher relationship and certified by the rigorous instructor standards set out by QuickNAV and the Canadian Yachting Association.

Upon completion of this course you will be more than well equipped to write the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG)
Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) certification with us here at QuickNAV, and will receive your PCOC upon successful completion of the test.
