Outline
The basics on safety, power boat terminology along with instruction in tying knots and hitches are provided in a serious, fun atmosphere where classroom and a hands-on approach are provided to the student before our one day cruise of Howe Sound.

This course certifies you to charter locally and internationally

Students spend 2 evenings in class plus 2 days on the water aboard our 19 foot power boat. Course manuals are provided at registration and should be reviewed before you start your on-water instruction. You will now begin your hands on experience with your boating adventure. This course will provide you with QuickNAV and Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) Power Certification.  Each of these certifications can be taken together or separate to suit your time frame.

The basics of safety, boating terminology, systems, tying knots and hitches, and rules of the road are provided in a serious, fun atmosphere where both classroom and hands-on approach are provided to the student before our cruise in English Bay.

This certification is generally recognized as the minimum requirement to charter a vessel for day cruising during daylight hours in local waters. Topics covered are: handling a powerboat while underway, docking, anchoring, person overboard and retrieval drills, weather, collision regulations, and basic navigation as well as the Canadian Aids to Navigation System.  Make the most of your course time with two days on the water putting your skills to work with some classroom work on charting.
