Marine Emergency Duties MED A3
 

 

Basic Safety Training: Commercial Fishing , Non- Pleasure ,Crew Boats, Work Boats up to 150 Gross Tonnage and operating no more than 25 miles from shore

All Non - pleasure, Commercial boat crew members are required by law to obtain their Transport Canada training certificate in Marine Emergency Duties Basic Safety - since April 1 of 2008. MED A3 satisfies this requirement.  Vancouver, BC vessel operators, non-pleasure and commercial crew are reminded that training is key in helping both new crew members and even the most experienced mariners reduce their risk of mishaps on the water.

Learn So You'll Return

We'll teach you about all phases of marine emergencies, including;

- Hazards & risk management; prevention & vessel stability;

- Fire emergency response;

- Survival & Lifesaving equipment use;

- Distress signaling including flares, DSC Radio & EPIRB Beacons;

- Cold water emergency response;

- Coastal search & rescue procedures.
